Frequently Asked Questions

The alarm did not fire at the prayer time. What should I check?

Make sure the toggle for that prayer is switched on in the app. Also check that Sajdah Silent is not restricted by Android battery optimisation — go to Settings → Battery → Battery optimisation and set Sajdah Silent to Not optimised. Some device manufacturers (Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei) apply aggressive background-kill policies that can prevent alarms from firing.

Will the alarms still work after I restart my phone?

Yes. Sajdah Silent listens for the device boot event and automatically reschedules all active alarms when your phone restarts.

How do I change a prayer time?

Open the app, tap the prayer name, and use the time picker to set the correct time for your local mosque or calculation method. The change is saved and the alarm is rescheduled immediately.

Can I set different silent durations for each prayer?

Yes. Each prayer has its own silent-duration setting. Jumuʼah defaults to 60 minutes; daily prayers default to 20 minutes. You can adjust each one independently.

Does the app need an internet connection?

No. All prayer times are set manually by you and stored locally on your device. Sajdah Silent works fully offline.

Does the app collect any of my data?

No. See the Privacy Policy for full details. In short: nothing is collected, transmitted, or shared.

Why does the app need the “Special use foreground service” permission?

Android requires this permission for any app that needs to run a background service reliably when the screen is off. Without it, the silencer service could be killed by the OS before it has a chance to restore your ringer.
